Fugo alternative
for small businesses

Fugo is a cloud signage platform with a clear focus: business dashboards and internal communications on office and factory screens, with Power BI, Tableau, Looker and Salesforce built in. If you are looking for a Fugo alternative, the reason is usually price for a small fleet, or content that is more about customers than about KPIs. Here is how TVpilot and Fugo compare, honestly.

Free plan, no credit card required. Paid plans from €5 a month.

The short answer

Fugo has one free screen with a small watermark and a 14-day trial, then charges $20, $30 or $40 per screen per month on yearly billing ($24 and $36 paid monthly). It runs on Android, Fire TV, Chromecast, Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, LG webOS and Samsung SSSP, and holds SOC 2 Type 2, HIPAA and GDPR badges. TVpilot is free for 1 screen without a watermark and charges per plan: €5 a month for 3 screens, €2 per extra screen. Fugo is stronger for BI dashboards from Tableau, Looker or Salesforce and for enterprise security reviews; TVpilot is far cheaper for a few screens and adds shop, review and local data.

What really differs

Dashboards for the office, or content for customers

Fugo positions itself around TV dashboards and internal communication. Its integrations include Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Grafana, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Zendesk, SAP, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Notion and Slack, and its Enterprise plan adds on-premise dashboards, player variables, SSO and an API key.

TVpilot covers dashboards too (Power BI, Help Scout, Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Lightspeed, bol.com, Mollie, Stripe, SumUp, Moneybird and Picqer), but most customers use it to face their own customers: menus, promotions, opening hours, Google and Trustpilot reviews, weather, NS departures and ANWB traffic. A Data API in Premium lets a till or booking system push live numbers.

The free screen and the bill after it

Fugo lets you test one screen indefinitely with a small watermark, and offers a 14-day trial with full access and no credit card. Paid plans are per screen: Essential $20, Core $30 and Enterprise $40 per month on yearly billing, or $24 and $36 paid monthly for Essential and Core. Ten screens on Essential come to $200 a month.

TVpilot's free screen has no watermark and no time limit. Starter is €5 a month with 3 screens included and €2 for each extra screen, so 10 screens cost €19 a month; Pro is €29 a month with 10 screens and every Premium feature.

Players and security

Fugo runs on Android, Fire TV, Chromecast, Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, LG webOS and Samsung SSSP displays, and sells a Fugo NUC and a Fugo Chromebox on quote. It shows SOC 2 Type 2, HIPAA and GDPR badges and offers a Trust Center for security reviews, which matters to larger IT teams.

TVpilot runs on the Amazon Signage Stick, any Raspberry Pi with one install command and HDMI-CEC TV scheduling, a Fire TV Stick with the TVpilot app, Android TV and Chromecast with Google TV through a browser, and any smart TV or computer that opens a player URL. TVpilot is hosted in the EU; its hosting, database and payment providers are SOC 2 and ISO 27001, but TVpilot holds no certificate of its own.

Honest advice

Which one should you pick?

Choose Fugo if

  • You want Tableau, Looker, Grafana, Salesforce or SAP dashboards on your screens.
  • Your IT team needs a SOC 2 Type 2 report or HIPAA from the signage vendor itself.
  • You run Samsung SSSP or LG webOS displays and want a native player.
  • You want a Fugo NUC or Fugo Chromebox player from the same vendor.

Choose TVpilot if

  • You want a free screen without a watermark.
  • You run a few screens and want to pay €5 to €19 a month instead of $20 per screen.
  • You want to use a Raspberry Pi, with the TV switched on and off over HDMI-CEC.
  • You want reviews, shop sales, menus and local data such as NS departures on your screens.

Moving from Fugo to TVpilot

Fugo hands out files over its API on the Enterprise plan only, and TVpilot has no automatic Fugo import. Download your files from Fugo and upload them in TVpilot under Media, many at once or straight from Google Drive or Dropbox; it takes a few minutes. Dashboards you showed in Fugo come back as TVpilot plugins, for example Power BI.

Install TVpilot on each player and pair it once with the claim code. A Fire TV device or Chromecast that ran Fugo can run TVpilot too.
