Xogo alternative
priced per plan, not per player

Xogo is a simple signage platform with its own low-cost player, the Xogo Mini Max, and a free account for one player. People who look for a Xogo alternative usually outgrow the free account and then compare what more screens cost. Here is how TVpilot and Xogo compare, honestly, including when Xogo fits better.

Free plan, no credit card required. Paid plans from €5 a month.

The short answer

Xogo has a free account for one player with limits (1 user, 15 library items, videos up to 60 seconds, HD only, basic scheduling), then Pro at $20 per player per month, 25% less on yearly billing. It runs on its own Xogo Mini Max ($69.99), BrightSign players and Fire TV Sticks. TVpilot is free for 1 screen with 250 MB storage and no item or video length limit, then €5 a month for 3 screens and €2 per extra screen. Xogo is a good fit if you want the vendor's own player and Microsoft Teams Rooms integration; TVpilot is cheaper once you pay and runs on a Raspberry Pi.

What really differs

The free account

Xogo's free account runs one player for one user, with up to 15 items in the library, videos up to 60 seconds, HD content only and basic scheduling. One free account is allowed per organisation, and no credit card is needed.

TVpilot's Free plan is also one screen, with 250 MB of storage, all standard plugins, AI Studio and one calendar, without a limit on the number of items or the length of a video and without a TVpilot logo on your content.

What more screens cost

Xogo Pro is $20 per player per month, or 25% less on yearly billing, with unlimited users and library, 4K content, widgets, user rights, player groups, content overlays, programmatic advertising and a Microsoft Teams Rooms integration. Ten players come to $200 a month on monthly billing.

TVpilot Starter is €5 a month with 3 screens included and €2 per extra screen, so 10 screens cost €19 a month. Pro is €29 a month with 10 screens, 3 users and every Premium feature; Business adds a team of up to 25 users.

Hardware

Xogo sells its own player, the Xogo Mini Max, for $69.99, and also runs on BrightSign players and on Fire TV Sticks with the Xogo Player app. Buying player and software from one company keeps setup simple.

TVpilot does not sell hardware. It runs on the Amazon Signage Stick, any Raspberry Pi with one install command (with HDMI-CEC TV power scheduling), a Fire TV Stick with the TVpilot app from the Amazon Appstore, Android TV and Chromecast with Google TV through a browser, and any smart TV or computer that opens a player URL.

Live content

TVpilot includes live plugins on every plan: weather, news, Google and Trustpilot reviews, calendars, a meeting room panel, Power BI, Canva, Google Slides and PowerPoint, YouTube, and dashboards for Shopify, WooCommerce, bol.com, Mollie, Stripe and SumUp, plus NS departures and ANWB traffic for Dutch businesses. Per-slide schedules with expiry dates and a calendar per screen decide what plays when.

Moving from Xogo to TVpilot

Xogo has no public API that hands out your files, so there is no automatic import. Download your images and videos from Xogo and upload them in TVpilot under Media, many at once or straight from Google Drive or Dropbox. It takes a few minutes.

Then build your playlists and pair each screen once with its claim code. A Fire TV Stick that ran the Xogo Player app can run the TVpilot app from the Amazon Appstore instead.
