OptiSigns alternative
priced per plan, not per screen
OptiSigns is a popular, feature-rich digital signage platform with a generous free plan. If you are comparing it with an OptiSigns alternative, the questions are usually what the free plan allows and what the bill looks like once you grow. This page puts TVpilot and OptiSigns side by side, with the cases where OptiSigns is the better fit.
Free plan, no credit card required. Paid plans from €5 a month.
The short answer
OptiSigns is free for up to 3 screens with the OptiSigns logo on screen, then charges $10 to $45 per screen per month (monthly billing). TVpilot is free for 1 screen without a logo and then charges per plan with screens included: €5 a month for 3 screens, €2 per extra screen. OptiSigns offers more: its own Android stick, 140+ integrations, touch and interactive kiosks, SOC 2 Type II and an on-premises option. TVpilot is the cheaper route once you pay, and adds integrations for Dutch and European tools.

What really differs
The free plan
OptiSigns is free for up to 3 screens, which is more screens than TVpilot gives away. The free screens show the OptiSigns logo, and the plan includes 25 basic apps and 1 GB of storage.
TVpilot is free for 1 screen with 250 MB storage, all standard plugins and AI Studio, without a TVpilot logo on your content and without a time limit. If you need three free screens and the logo does not bother you, OptiSigns gives you more for nothing; if you need one clean screen, both work.
What you pay once you grow
OptiSigns charges per screen: Standard is $10 per screen per month on monthly billing, and the tiers above it (Pro, Pro Plus, Engage, Enterprise) go up to $45, with 10% off for yearly billing. Ten screens on Standard come to $100 a month.
TVpilot charges per plan: Starter is €5 a month with 3 screens included and €2 for each extra screen up to 10, so 10 screens cost €19 a month. Pro is €29 a month with 10 screens and every Premium feature (Premium plugins, smart triggers, the emergency alert). At 25 screens TVpilot Pro is €59 a month.
Hardware and players
OptiSigns sells its own OptiStick, an Android player at $99.99 with 4K and split-screen zones, and runs on Fire TV, Android and other platforms. It is a practical choice if you want one vendor for both player and software.
TVpilot does not sell hardware. It runs on the Amazon Signage Stick, on any Raspberry Pi with one install command (with HDMI-CEC TV power scheduling and a self-healing watchdog), on a Fire TV Stick with the TVpilot app from the Amazon Appstore, on Android TV and Chromecast with Google TV through a browser, and on any smart TV or computer that opens a player URL.
Features for larger and regulated teams
OptiSigns goes further at the top end: SOC 2 Type II, SAML single sign-on, a GraphQL API, touch kiosks, an interactive Engage tier, AI audience analytics as a separate product, on-premises or private cloud and mass device provisioning on Enterprise.
TVpilot keeps the business features at small-business prices: roles and locations on Pro, and on Business an approval workflow with a four-eyes option, white label with your own logo and colours, a partner portal for resellers, proof-of-play certificates and advertiser reports. TVpilot is hosted in the EU; its hosting, database and payment providers are SOC 2 and ISO 27001, but TVpilot holds no certificate of its own.

Choose OptiSigns if
- You want three free screens and the OptiSigns logo on them is fine.
- You need touch kiosks, interactive content or audience analytics.
- Your IT team requires a SOC 2 Type II report from the signage vendor itself, or an on-premises install.
- You want to buy the player and the software from the same company.
Choose TVpilot if
- You run 5, 10 or 25 screens and want a monthly bill that does not grow by $10 per screen.
- You want your free screen without a vendor logo on it.
- You already have a Raspberry Pi, an Amazon Signage Stick, a Fire TV Stick or a smart TV.
- You want shop, payment and transport data from bol.com, Mollie, SumUp, NS or ANWB on your screens.
Moving from OptiSigns to TVpilot
OptiSigns' API (on its Pro Plus plan) shows playlists and durations but does not hand out the files, so there is no automatic import. Download your files from OptiSigns and upload them in TVpilot, many at once or straight from Google Drive or Dropbox; PDFs become one slide per page.
Your screens move by installing TVpilot on the player and pairing it once with the claim code. You can switch screen by screen and cancel OptiSigns when you are done.
