Help Scout on a TV screen:
your support numbers, live

A Help Scout TV dashboard for the support team: how many conversations are open, how many wait too long, what came in and got solved today, how fast the first reply was and how customers rated you. Connect with an App ID and App Secret from My Apps, pick your mailboxes and the board is on the wall.

Help Scout on a TV screen
On the screen

What the screen shows

Open, unassigned, waiting too long

The queue right now. Waiting too long turns amber after 4, 8, 24 or 48 hours, you choose.

New and solved, today and this week

With the trend against yesterday and last week, and a 7-day line under the Open count.

First reply and time to solve

Over the last 7 days, from the Reports API when your plan includes it, computed from the conversations otherwise.

First-contact resolution and satisfaction

Solved on the first reply, and the happiness score over 30 days with the number of ratings.

Per mailbox, channel and tag

Where the work comes from: split the open conversations by mailbox, by email, chat or phone, and by tag.

More when you want it

Snoozed, spam today, chats waiting, phone today, customers helped today, negative ratings today, open per team, replies per agent, Docs searches without result.

Setup

How it connects

01
Create an app in Help Scout

Open your profile menu, choose My Apps and create an app. Copy its App ID and App Secret.

02
Paste both in TVpilot and test

The connection test shows what the app can read. Then pick which mailboxes count on this board: one, several or all of them.

03
Choose tiles, push to screen

Drag the tiles into your order, star the two that deserve to be big, pick a design and push the board to a screen or a playlist.

Privacy

What reaches the screen

Only totals reach the screen: never a customer name, a subject or a message. The app is only ever used to read. Credentials are sealed on our servers, only ever used to read, and never shown again after you save them. Revoke them on the platform side at any time and the board simply stops.

Any TV

Show it on the TV you already own

TVpilot turns the hardware you have into a managed screen: a Raspberry Pi with one command, a Fire TV Stick or Android TV, or simply the browser of a smart TV. One player URL per screen, managed from the dashboard.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does this work with several mailboxes?

Yes. Pick one, several or all mailboxes after the connection test, and change that later in the editor. With two or more mailboxes you choose Combined (one set of numbers), One at a time (each mailbox in turn at full size, switching every 10 to 60 seconds) or Side by side (up to three columns).

Do I need the Help Scout Reports API?

No. When your Help Scout plan includes the Reports API the speed and satisfaction tiles come from there. Otherwise TVpilot calculates first reply time and time to solve from the conversations of the last 7 days, and satisfaction from the ratings on your replies.

Can the board show agent names?

Only if you add the per-agent tiles (open per agent, solved per agent, replies per agent). They are never on by default. Use them where the team agrees with that.

How often does the board refresh?

Every 3 minutes. The screen keeps the last known numbers through a connection hiccup, so a wobbly Wi-Fi moment never shows an empty board.

Can I see that TVpilot is connected in Help Scout?

Yes, under My Apps. Delete the app there and the board stops at once.

Can the board share a screen with other content?

Yes. The board is a slide. Put it in a playlist with your promos or the weather, or give it a screen of its own in the support area.
