Intercom on the TV:
the inbox at a glance

Intercom moves fast; the wall should keep up. Connect with an access token from the Developer Hub, pick the teams that count and every screen shows the open conversations, the ones waiting too long, the snoozed ones, what came in and got closed today, how fast the first reply was and how conversations were rated. Refreshed every 3 minutes.

Intercom on a TV screen
On the screen

What the screen shows

Open, unassigned, waiting too long, snoozed

The live inbox per team. Waiting counts from the moment the customer last wrote; snoozed conversations get their own tile.

New and closed, today and this week

With the trend against the previous period and a 7-day line under the Open count.

First reply and time to close

Averages over the last 7 days from the first admin reply and close timestamps Intercom records.

Ratings

Positive conversation ratings as a percentage over 30 days, the number of ratings and negative ratings today.

Per team, channel and tag

Open conversations by team, by chat, email or other source, and by tag.

Customers helped today

How many different people the team wrote to today.

Setup

How it connects

01
Create an app in the Developer Hub

In Intercom open Settings, Integrations, Developer Hub and create an app for your workspace. Copy its Access Token from the Authentication page.

02
Paste the token and test

The app needs to read conversations, teams and admins, which a new app does by default. The connection test confirms it.

03
Pick teams, tiles and design

Choose which teams count on this board, pick your tiles, star the important ones and push it to a screen.

Privacy

What reaches the screen

The screen shows counts and averages, never a contact, a subject or a message body. The token is only ever used to read. Credentials are sealed on our servers, only ever used to read, and never shown again after you save them. Revoke them on the platform side at any time and the board simply stops.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which Intercom plan do I need?

Any plan that lets you create an app in the Developer Hub. The board uses the conversation search, teams and admins endpoints of the standard API.

What counts as waiting too long?

A conversation where the customer wrote last and no admin replied for longer than the bound you set: 4, 8, 24 or 48 hours. The tile turns amber above zero by default.

Can I show two teams on one screen?

Yes. Pick several teams and choose Combined, One at a time or Side by side, each column headed by the team name.

Do names of teammates appear?

Only when you add the per-agent tiles on purpose. Totals by default.

How often does it refresh?

Every 3 minutes. The last known numbers stay on the screen through a connection hiccup.

Can I revoke access?

Yes. Delete the app or regenerate its token in the Developer Hub and the board stops immediately.
